Jay Leno is adding a new car to his extensive stable and the newest member of the Big Dog Garage is the 2011 Chevrolet Volt. Leno stopped by his local dealer to pick one up and meeting him there was Shad Balch, General Motors Environment and Energy Communications Specialist, along with a salesman who clearly finds Leno very funny.

Budds’ is the original dealership for Saab, established in 1973 by the Budds family of Oakville.

Saab, a choice brand for many, has become almost a trendy yet a classy European blend of automotive engineering that defines its own place in the auto world.

As the brand was dropped from the General Motors portfolio, Budds’ played a major role in restoring the faith of their Saab customers by spearheading talks with GM and Saab Sweden, the outcome was positive, Saab is back. Bought out by Spyker Cars of Netherlands, Budds continue to support the brand by facilitating Saab training across Canada in their dealership. Budds recently hosted the press conference for Saab re-launch in Canada. “Budds’ is definitely committed to the brand” said Chris Budd.

Saab is set to launch the fabulous new 95 model in mid November, which can be seen in the dealership showroom within the next two weeks. The sporty 93 line up of the sedan and sport combi will be enhanced with an off road sibling called the 93 combi X, all be available soon.  For the near future Saab has many new products that are in sight including a cross over  94X early in the new year.

Hi, my name is Chris Budd and on behalf of myself and my brothers, Darryl and Terry, we appreciate this moment of your time.

I write you today to bring you up to date on exciting news from the Budds’ organization.

We are extremely pleased to announce that we have been appointed the local dealer for all 4 of General Motors iconic brands, and as such have added Budds’ Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC to our group of companies. Believing in local business, employees and customers, we have maintained many franchises in the Oakville area since 1973, and since 1992 have worked with General Motors as Saturn Saab Retailers. Our history of treating people the way we would want to be treated ourselves will bring stability to the GM brands, and more critically, a better facility and experience for you, our customers.

A few points on our family; We moved to Oakville in 1959 and all still make it our family’s home, attended Thomas A Blakelock High school and joined our dad, Stuart Budd in the British Leyland business in 1973. Humble beginnings and hard work have taught us to never take anything in life for granted. Budds’ has grown to employ some 375 staff at 6 automotive franchises. With the tremendous support of the Oakville and surrounding area population, we are privileged to support local charities. Our collision repair facility, Budds’ Collision, is the most advanced state of the art facility in Canada, repairing all makes and models to original factory specifications.

This year will be a busy one, as 410 South Service Road will be the permanent home for all GM brands by this summer. It will receive a substantial upgrade to a state of the art, customer friendly facility. The phone numbers and locations you have been accustomed to will remain. Below is an outline of our plans;

Prior to June 30, 2010

• Sales and Service of all GM brands will be available at both our locations, 547 Trafalgar Road and 410 South Service Road West.
• Sales for Saab and Service for Saturn vehicles will be available at 2400 South Service Road West.

After June 30, 2010

• Sales and Service for Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC, including service for Saturn Pontiac and Hummer vehicles will be at the renovated facility at 410 South Service Road West.
• Budds’ Saab will continue as a full Sales and Service Saab franchise at 2400 South Service Road West.

By late June, we will close the Trafalgar Road location. Check our website, www.buddschev.com for updates, and remember, both sales and service will continue to operate as above, even as we renovate.
